[date time! finally...]

Lucas has not been putting this whole date thing off at all. This should be the first fact to be noted even if it can't really be expressed in any manner aside from verbally. He hasn't been putting it off but he has been being extremely nervous about it while waiting for a time to open up. Tonight would be the first night that has actually been entirely open. Where open means that there's an art show at which he has been charged with acting as his family's sole representative. He doesn't particularly like the idea of taking Meg to any function at which he would run the risk of having to actually make her suffer through his family, particularly Meresin or Cooper.

Anyway, the point is that there is a Lucas currently in search of a Meg. He's rather dressed up, the whole suit-and-tie deal, impeccably tailored in solid black aside from the charcoal grey of his shirt. After all, it takes too much effort to be sure that any colour he might wear wouldn't clash with his hair and even if he doesn't plan to hang around the show any longer than absolutely necessary, he still wants to make a good impression on anyone who might be picking him out of the crowd. Not to mention the fact that it's also always nice to make a good impression on a certain girl.

Somewhere in the mansion, there is a Lucas. He's actually playing with his dog for once instead of just sitting around reading. Mostly this is because he's a bit of a nervously fidgety Lucas but seriously, nobody needs to know that. Currently they're alternating between fetch and tug-o-war with vaguely duck-shaped dog toy that has most definitely seen better days. Joth is doing that wonderful, puppy growl and wrestle bit with the duck's head in his mouth. Lucas, on the other hand, has a hold of the poor duck's ass as he sits on a couch and reminds himself that asking someone on a date really isn't that terrifying of a proposition, especially when the person in question has already agreed that going out again would be a good idea.

Typist: This is mostly for Meg, obviously, but anyone and everyone can feel free to bother him.

He's doing better than expected, really, though still not very well at all. He calmed down while talking to Dio and hit something just short of numb by the time he got home. But then his assumption was proven correct, Meresin didn't notice the fact that he was down one son, and that just fucked everything right back up again. So there is a Lucas somewhere in the mansion, somewhere relatively out of the way, and he is currently curled up at one end of a couch with Joth curled up at the other.

His eyes are in that final stage of redness before fully recovering from crying and he's been staring at the same page for the last five minutes but whatever. He's read the book a dozen times anyway. Coop would probably be teasing him about that.

Date night!

*so, one Lucas promised one Meg a night out dancing and he has never been one to go back on a promise, with or without a threat to his life being made by the sibling of the girl to whom he made said promise -- of course, he really doesn't have any plans for the evening because he realized a while after talking to Meg that all he'd said was that they'd go out dancing and he never bothered to ask what sort of dancing or what sort of things she actually likes to do when she goes out or anything like that and, being himself, these sorts of things are actually rather important when in the process of figuring out what the hell you're doing -- but yeah, that's not the point, instead the point is more that there is a Lucas out and about with the intention of finding Meg and seeing if she's up for that date this evening, at which point he has ideas but he'll pretty much just wing it...that's what creative people do anyway, right?*
